A reading library of the sacred texts — the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Gita, both epics and the Puranas — in Telugu, Sanskrit, Kannada and English, on a phone, without a network.
What this is
Sanatana Vedika holds the canon as a reader actually approaches it: by shelf, by book, by chapter and verse. Every passage carries its own reference, is stored separately in four languages, and can be read with the device in flight mode.
It exists because that shelf is scattered. The texts are online, but spread across academic archives in transliteration schemes a lay reader cannot read, print editions long out of print, and apps that carry a single book each. A Telugu reader who wants the Rigveda in their own script, with the citation intact, has had nowhere to go.
Why it matters
Every verse is taken from an established scholarly edition and checked against its canonical structure before it is added. No scripture here was written by a machine — a plausible-sounding invented sloka is far worse than a missing one.
Telugu and Kannada verses are exact, deterministic transliterations of the Sanskrit — the same syllables in another script, so they can still be chanted. Script and meaning are kept strictly apart.
Search runs inside the verses themselves and returns a real reference —

A downloaded book reads and plays with no connection at all — on a pilgrimage, in a temple town, on a train. The panchangam is computed on the device rather than fetched.
Reference material — festivals, temples, gotras, genealogies, the pantheon — is authored in Telugu and Kannada alongside English, not machine-translated from an English original.

What is not finished The Agama and Tantra shelves are catalogued but empty — the books are listed, the text has not been sourced. Prose meanings exist for 24,663 passages, roughly 7% of the corpus; the rest carry the verse in four scripts with no commentary yet. Both gaps are stated inside the app as well, rather than papered over.

The crest carries the śūla and the dhanus with the bāṇa nocked flanking the Sudarshana chakra — the third eye opened at its hub, the ॐ beneath it, the whole standing on a three-tiered vedika. The ॐ is a true glyph outline rather than a hand-drawn approximation.
The application icon drops the two standards. At forty-eight pixels five symbols collapse into one another, so the launcher is given the chakra and the ॐ alone — a resolution budget, not a simplification of the idea.
